Maxine Stevens Photography is the home of Newborn Photography in Pretoria, capturing timeless, natural photographs of your baby. It’s all about photographing your baby, and capturing those tiny little newborn details. I am a qualified newborn photographer with the ANP. 

My studio is clean with soft, natural wraps for baby, delicate knitted bonnets and gorgeous accessories. Everything we need for a beautiful colourful Newborn photography session.

How Does Booking a Newborn Shoot Work, what if Bubs comes early or late?

We all know babies make their appearance on their own time, so dont worry if bub is early or late. If you are interested in booking a photoshoot for when bub is born you provide me with your due date so I can put it in my calender. Once baby is born you need to contact me with 48 hours so we can book in a time within the first 14 days of birth so you can get all the gorgeous sleepy photos.

The perfect age for Newborn Photography session is when your baby is between 5 - 14 days new. Under 2 weeks newborns still have that magical womb like behaviour that allows their fresh miraculous newborn look to be captured undisturbed. With only a window of a few days you have only one chance to capture that moment before it passes you by. After two weeks of age, they tend to be disturbed more easily while sleeping and it is not as easy to get the true newborn poses and look.  They can also become colicky or baby acne can start to flare. However I do photograph babies up to 6 weeks of age. 

Limited spaces are available each month for Newborn Photography. I recommend booking your session as soon possible because dates fill up fast! Newborn sessions take place at my home-based studio on weekday mornings only (no weekend sessions) and will start at 08:30. A 50% deposit is required to secure a session date. Please ensure you book your Newborn Session while you are Pregnant to Guarantee a session when Bubs is born.
