About your Newborn Session

Maxine Stevens' style is classic, allowing the baby to feature in timeless poses. An award-winning newborn photographer, who is highly regarded in the photographic industry.

Newborn photography is a beautiful memento of your precious little baby, snuggled in natural fabrics, capturing their peacefulness as they curl into their adorable baby poses. With every click of the camera, these fleeting moments become timeless treasures, preserving the innocence and wonder of infancy for generations to come. It’s a celebration of new beginnings, a testament to the unconditional love that fills the air whenever you gaze upon your newborn’s portrait.

Before you arrive at the studio, I do ask mums to give baby a FULL feed before you arrive. This is a very important step for a successful session. Otherwise we could spend the whole session trying to feed and settle baby.

Your session will usually start with family and sibling photos (if they are included in your purchased package).

Following this, we kindly request that someone collects the other children (or dad can take them for a drive or to the park) so the Studio can focus on finalizing your newborn session, which may take up to 4 hours in total.

All props and wraps for newborn sessions are provided by the Studio, no need to bring anything for your baby,

but you are more than welcome to.

Depending on your package purchased, your session will consist of up to 4-5 set ups, usually this is a variety of bowls, buckets, baskets and the cute little beds we have in the Studio. Your colours for your session will be chosen by yourself on the booking form and you are also welcome to request a certain prop that you adore.

It is requested that you please bring a dummy and extra milk (especially if you are still trying to tackle breastfeeding). Working with a hungry baby or one that wants to ‘suckle’ is challenging and I always want to ensure they are comfortable and relaxed. I do keep extra New dummies and Miltons as back up.
